BLUE LIGHT
What is blue light?
- light with blue wavelengths
Blue light can suppress the production of melatonin, a sleep-inducing hormone. Overexposure to blue light for extended periods of time could damage your retinal cells. Also causing vision problems like macular degeneration for example. Blue light may contribute to cataracts and eye cancer. Some may also experience growths on the clear film cover over the white part of the eye.
BLUE LIGHT IS ALSO GOOD FOR YOU!
Blue light is great for daytime. The lights are supposedly beneficial because they boost your attention and reaction time. They keep you awake and boost your mood as well. However, blue light does impede your sleep. Hence the unbalanced melatonin.
